Twitter password reset 140 million active accounts

Guide the social network Twitter reported a wrong password reset from 140 million active user accounts in the standard procedure to identify compromised accounts.

“In cases where we believe that your account may have been compromised, reset the password and send e-mail account allows the owner to find out about the incident a misunderstanding”, – the guide microblogging service. “In this case we automatically reset passwords many accounts, in addition to those as we believe we have been hacked.”

Carolyn Penner, a spokeswoman for the social network, declined to comment and did not disclose the exact number of victims more accounts, but noted that no safety violations were found.
